I pity the ignorant, I pity the stationary.
Biology exhibits the singularity of humanity, culture portrays the individuality of humanity. It is truly amazing the ignorance that traveling casts away. The movies are not accurate, the Spanish class is not reflective. To me, travel and experience is a necessity of life. While some cannot afford it financial, I am absolutely perplexed by the majority of wealthy Americans who do not travel. There is a world beyond your comfort. A vast, interesting world willing to offer perspectives and understanding of humanity. Sociohistorical culture seems to stream-line humans to believing in a world based around their culture and a skewed perception of those they see on TV. Travel and interact with people you believe nothing in common - you will learn about yourself, you will learn about others, and I guarantee you will learn something priceless where you will find in no film or literature.
